I’m pretty sure we’ve mentioned that it’s Restaurant Week in Fayetteville. In the spirit of honoring our local eating establishments, and in totally Restaurant-Week-appropriate news, there’s a brand new place to try over near Baum Stadium.
Owners Kim Maguire and Raylene Lazenby officially opened Billy’s Grill last Tuesday at 989 S. Razorback Rd., next to Mezza Luna. The new restaurant specializes in burgers, hot dogs, corndogs, wings, fries and onion rings.
“All of our stuff is basically homemade,” Maguire said. “We’re just hoping to keep it real casual, keep the food good, and the beer cold.”
The menu is pretty simple and inexpensive. Most everything at Billy’s is less than $6.
The original idea for Billy’s was for a bar/pool hall, but zoning restrictions in the area led to the bar and grill concept. Still, several pool tables remain in the restaurant, some league dart teams play on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Billy’s will host occasional live music for special events. They’re also open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night.
Who’s tried it?
