City trash collection back on normal schedule

The city’s Solid Waste and Recycling Division announced that it is running on a normal schedule for commercial and residential waste collection this week.

Utilities Director David Jurgens said additional rear-load vehicles will be operating Wednesday and Thursday to help pick up extra bags left on the street for collections that have been missed the past several weeks due to the weather.

Residents who have Wednesday and Thursday collections are encouraged to leave their trash carts and recycling bins out all week, as residential trash trucks will be moving to those areas, if possible, after normal collections are made on Monday and Tuesday. Residential recycling will not be collected in these areas until the normally scheduled day.

As previously reported, there will be no extra bag charges applied for those routes that were missed the previous week, and customers do not need to use extra bag stickers.

Also, there will be no residential yard waste collections this week.
