Ozark Regional Transit discontinues Dickson Street shuttle service

After just two months of service, Ozark Regional Transit’s weekend shuttle service from the Fayetteville square to Dickson Street has been discontinued due to low ridership.

The organization announced the discontinuation of the shuttle via their Twitter account yesterday.

The program, which began on New Year’s Eve, was intended to provide a free solution for would-be visitors to Dickson Street who did not wish to pay for parking.

Rides were offered for free, but Ozark Regional Transit was accepting donations for local charities.

We couldn’t get in touch with ORT Executive Director Phil Pumphrey this morning, but he told Ozarks Unbound there were only five riders each on Friday and Saturday of this past weekend.

Know anyone who used the service?
