Giveaway: Lucinda Williams and Billy Joe Shaver at the Arkansas Music Pavilion

Wanna win tickets to see Lucinda Williams and Billy Joe Shaver at the Arkansas Music Pavilion? Go for it.

This contest is now closed.

Congrats to the winners, Gina Brown and Sardon.

After selling out two nights at George’s in a matter of minutes last year, Lucinda Williams will be back in town for a show at the AMP May 1.

The Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter just released her tenth studio album, Blessed, and recently racked up her 14th Grammy nomination for her song, Kiss Like Your Kiss from HBO’s True Blood.

Williams’ songs have been performed by artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter and Tom Petty, and she has collaborated with Elvis Costello, Steve Earle, Ryan Adams, and zillions (millions?) of other great artists.

She is considered by some to be one of the best songwriters of our generation, and was named America’s best songwriter by Time Magazine in 2002. In short, she’s pretty dad-gum amazing.

Williams will be joined by legendary performer Billy Joe Shaver at the AMP next month, who is also no slouch in the songwriting department.

Shaver has written songs for Waylon Jennings, Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Patty Loveless, Willie Nelson, and countless others. He has also released more than 20 records of his own since his 1973 debut Old Five and Dimers Like Me.

He’s also a bad mammer jammer.

It’s going to be a great show, and we’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away. How do you like those apples?
