Coming here: Billy Joe Shaver, Aug. 14 at George’s

How would you like to see legendary outlaw country singer Billy Joe Shaver in a cozy, intimate club setting here in Fayetteville?

You’ll get your chance next month, when the Grammy-nominated songwriter will be back in town for a show in the garden at George’s Sunday, Aug. 14.

Shaver was just in town, opening for Lucinda Williams at the Fayetteville Town Center in May (the show was originally scheduled for the AMP).

This time around, the spotlight will be all Shaver’s. He has certainly earned it.

For those who aren’t familiar with his body of work, he has written songs for Waylon Jennings, Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Patty Loveless, Willie Nelson, and countless others. He has also released more than 20 records of his own since his 1973 debut Old Five and Dimers Like Me.

Tickets are $15, and are now on sale at George’s ticketing site.
