I love this time of year in Fayetteville.
The students are coming back, the Razorback football team is still undefeated, and although it hasn’t quite cooled off yet, the chill of Fall should be arriving any minute.
Below is the list of things happening around town this weekend. Feel free to add anything we may have missed in the comments, and I hope you put on your partying undergarments ’cause this weekend is going to rule. Go for it.
Friday
A good thing to do on a Friday is get a happy hour drink after work, and George’s has music to drink to with RJ Mischo at 6 p.m. in the garden, and the Odds beginning at 7 p.m. in the lounge. Later on, Bob Kramer Incident will play their Alice in Chains tribute set, and Wrought will play some Rage Against the Machine songs in the garden. Kory Montgomery will probably play some sweet blues licks in the lounge.

Flatland Travelers
If you didn’t win tickets to see Midtown Men at Walton Arts Center, don’t panic. There are still some available. The show opens tonight, and there’s a pre-show party with retro-inspired activities planned. Wear your Mad Men suit/or dress.
Funky reggae blues band Flatland Travelers from Stillwater, OK are playing two shows in Fayetteville Friday night with funky southern-fried blues rock dudes, Brother Bagman. They’ll be at Sound Warehouse at around 5:30 (there will be cookies), and Smoke & Barrel Tavern later on (there will be whiskey).
Remember not too long ago when Stiff Necked Fools came up from Shreveport to play with 1 oz. Jig? Expect a repeat of that magic to happen this Friday night at Rogue Pizza Co., cause both of those bands are playing together again.
Saturday
A good thing to do on Saturday morning is to head to the Farmers’ Market on the Fayetteville square and get some vegetables and flowers, and listen to some buskers.
Do you like dogs? Miniature golf? Giant animals made of stucco? All of those things will be at Gator Golf for the 3rd Annual Putt for Paws mini-golf tournament. Tee-off is at 9 a.m.

DJ Moist
If you feel like hanging out with Bobby Petrino, Tyler Wilson, Joe Adams and the rest of the Razorback football team, maybe you should head over to Bud Walton Arena for Razorback Fan Day at 2 p.m. Here’s more info on that.
DJ Moist (aka Archie Schaffer) is trying to get a vinyl night off the ground at Kingfish, and there’s one scheduled for Saturday. The idea is to bring a couple records from your collection and share a song or two with everyone.
Brooklyn-based JP & The Gilberts were in town in March on their way back from SXSW, and they’re back in town Saturday night for a show with local favorites Cletus Got Shot at Smoke & Barrel.
There are basically two shows at George’s Saturday night. You can see a band called “The Boat Drunks” at the Beach House on the Hill benefit for Circle of Life Hospice in the garden. You could also see locals A Good Fight and OKC band Siva Addiction in the lounge. Your choice.
Sunday
After a brief hiatus, Monster Mug night returns to George’s this weekend. Guta is playing, and it’s also Teddy from the band’s birthday.
Happy Birthday
