Get ready, Fayetteville.
If you thought traffic increased over the last week with the return of the students, wait until you see what happens this weekend.
The bars and restaurants will be packed, the streets will be lined with Razorback-flag-flying vehicles, and several people will be wearing red pants. Just wait and see.
Happy first game weekend of the season.
Friday
How about a some happy hour tunes? George’s has Full House and Red Ambition for the early show starting at 6 p.m., and later on they’re planning a Charlie Daniels Band after-party with Mountain Sprout.

Boeing-Boeing
Speaking of old Charlie, he will almost certainly play Devil Went Down To Georgia at least once at the AMP Friday night. At least. Mountain Sprout and Amanda Cramer will open that show.
There’s a brand new place opening up inside the Legacy building Friday night. Cherry Brooks & Cal Jackson and house band Big Bluesy will christen the Legacy Blues Lounge with their musical abilities.
The Washington County Fair is at the fairgrounds through Saturday. Friday is armband night, and you can save $5 on your armband with a Pepsi can. It’s also midnight madness, and the carnival will be open until 2 a.m.
Of all the bands in Little Rock, no one has a cooler name than Jonathan Wilkins & The Reparations. It’s the Reparations part that’s so awesome. Anyway, they’ll be at Smoke & Barrel Tavern Friday night. Locals The Thunderlizards will open. Update: The Reparations van broke down, so it’s Shortfuze tonight at Smoke & Barrel.
Wanna see a play? TheatreSquared’s sixth season opened Thursday night with Boeing-Boeing, and there are chances to see it all weekend at Nadine Baum Studios (that is, if it doesn’t sell out).
Rogue has 1 oz Jig Friday night, and a special all-star appearance by Shawn Eckells (Speakeasy) Kory Montgomery, Dave Gesualdo (Mountain of Venus) and Anthony Ball (Black Pearl) opening the show.
Saturday
On Saturday, stop by the Farmers’ Market, and high-five every vendor around the square for finishing fifth in the America’s Favorite Farmers’ Market competition. High-five everyone else you see down there while you’re at it. Why not?

Ying Yang Twins
Later on, how about you head down to the area around Reynolds Razorback Stadium, drink some drinks, and eat some tailgate food before you watch the Razorbacks obliterate the Bears from Missouri State? How about it?
Boom! Kinetic will be playing their musical instruments in the garden at George’s (well, so long as Wiley gets over the sickness that cancelled his Kingfish appearance Thursday night), and Mountain Sprout will play their third set of the weekend in the lounge.
Do you like the Flipoff Pirates? We ask, not as some kind of public opinion poll about the band or anything, but because they’re playing at Smoke & Barrel Saturday night. If you like ’em, we figured maybe you’d want to know that. $5 cover.
You know what Lil’ John would say if you told him that Ying Yang Twins were playing at Rogue Pizza Co. Saturday night? Yeah, that’s what we said too. According to a Facebook event created for the show, they’ll be a few tickets for sale at the door no matter what.
Sunday
Austin one-man-band Daniel Francis Doyle is back in town for a show at JR’s Lightbulb Club on Sunday night. Also on the bill is new(ish) band Potions, featuring a couple former members of Perpetual Werewolf. Last time Daniel Francis Doyle was in town, Bikes, Blues & BBQ was happening. He’s going to be confused.
Smoke & Barrel has a Sunday night show with some Memphis Americana from Star & Micey.
Happy Birthday
