Expect to encounter some lane closings around the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Interstate 540 interchange over the next week or so.
Lane closures are planned through Friday, Nov. 4, and again next week from Monday through Thursday, Nov. 10 to allow work related to placement of the final surfacing and pavement markings on the roadway.
In July 2010, the Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a contract in the amount of $4 million, to Sweetser Construction, Inc. of Fayetteville for the project to implement short-term improvements at the I-540/Highway 62/180 (Exit 62) interchange. The project includes radii improvements to the I-540 on and off ramps, radii improvements to Shiloh Drive (west frontage road) and Futrall Drive (east frontage road) and the relocation of the northbound on-ramp onto I-540.
The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2011.
