University of Arkansas and Walton Arts Center officials this week announced a plan to convert the Old Field House building into a 600- to 700-seat theater. The building is located between the student union and Silas Hunt Hall near Maple Street.

Over 30 restaurants are participating in this year’s Soup Sunday event benefitting Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. Souping begins at 4 p.m. this Sunday.

The Razorback men’s basketball team ended its 17-game home winning streak Saturday after a 98-68 loss to Florida at Bud Walton Arena. The Hogs take on Alabama at 6 p.m. tonight in Fayetteville. The game is either on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Goddamn Gallows

Psychobilly/folk/blues band The Goddamn Gallows are at Smoke & Barrel Tavern tonight. The group is about to kick off a month-long series of shows opening for The Reverend Horton Heat, but were convinced by locals Cletus Got Shot to stop off in Fayetteville before their tour begins tomorrow in Tulsa.

Also tonight, TheatreSquared’s Tigers Be Still is at Nadine Baum Studios across from Walton Arts Center, George’s has Josh Abbott Band, and UARK Bowl hosts another stand-up comedy open mic night.
