A vacant church building was the second to go as demolition crews continued removing structures near the corner of Maple Street and West Avenue Thursday.
Ark Wrecking of Oklahoma is in the process of clearing the area for construction of a five-story student housing complex which, along with another planned complex just around the corner, could bring more than 1,200 bedrooms to the neighborhood.
The 2.99-acre development – called 555 Maple – is aimed towards university students interested in living in downtown Fayetteville.
