The 13th annual University of Arkansas Horse Festival is set for April 13 and 14 at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Arena on Garland Avenue in Fayetteville.
The event will feature the American Vaulting Association’s Friendship Team Vaulters, who will conduct an educational clinic and demonstrations.
The clinic and a demo are set for 7 p.m. on Friday. Tickets are $5; children 8 and under are free.
Two more shows featuring dance movements and gymnastics on moving horses are set for Saturday at noon and 3:30 p.m. Tickets to the Saturday events are $10 for ages 9 to adult and $5 for children 8 and under.
This fundraising event for the Dorothy E. King Equine Program is produced by students in the Introduction to the Equine Industry course and with the help of community volunteers. The equine program, which supports the equine science minor in Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, and educational programs for horse owners, is largely self-supporting from donations and proceeds of fund-raising events.
