Local bands Shawn James & The Shapeshifters, The Flipoff Pirates, SW/MM/NG, and Surf De Soleil will headline the main stage of the third annual Last Night Fayetteville New Year’s Eve celebration.
The event, set for Tuesday, Dec. 31 at several venues around the Fayetteville square, will include over 20 performances by musicians, theatre groups, comedy improv groups, belly dancers and jugglers.
The annual event also includes a giant puppet parade, a food truck food court, a beer garden with beers from several local breweries, a fireworks show, and a champagne toast at midnight.
A new Hog Drop (think of the ball drop in Times Square) sculpture will highlight this year’s countdown to midnight. The hand-sculpted pig, created by local artist Mike Davis, was unveiled Saturday at a lineup announcement event on the square.
Last Night was named by TripAdvisor.com as one of the top 10 most unique New Year’s Eve celebrations in the country last year.
Tickets are $15 in advance for adults, and $5 for children. VIP tickets are also available for $65, and include access to a VIP lounge, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
