Arkansas-based magazine The Idle Class will host an awards show to honor Arkansas artists this weekend.
The inaugural event, called The Black Apple Awards, will take place on Saturday, April 11 at The Garden Room in Fayetteville.
Nominees for the awards (listed below) were selected via online voting in 15 categories; best artisans, musical act, 2D artist, 3D artist, creative agency, filmmaker, performing poet, alcoholic craft beverage, non-alcoholic craft beverage, radio show, fashion photography, theatre company, chef, and local jewelry designer. Awards will be announced at the ceremony Saturday night.
Local musician Benjamin Del Shreve will kick off the evening with a performance at 6 p.m., followed by a fashion show at 7 p.m., and the awards show will take place after that.
Admission is $5 (or $10 for VIPs), and proceeds from the event will benefit Art Amiss, a local non-profit art collective dedicated to supporting Arkansas Artists.
