Residents are invited to participate in Project Apple Tree, a back-to-school clothing and supply drive hosted by the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
The annual community event benefits the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter with items needed to give its students a sufficient start to a new school year.
Helping out is simple. Just choose an apple from the apple tree at Center Court in the mall. Each apple has a list of a student’s clothing sizes and school supplies needed. After the apple is selected, the person can shop for the student and return the purchased items to the tree for distribution to the children’s shelter in mid-August.
“This is a long-standing tradition at our mall and we are happy to continue supporting the children at the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter,” said Rhonda Bramell, marketing manager at Northwest Arkansas Mall.
The deadline for selecting an apple is Monday, Aug. 10.
