Walton Arts Center will host a martini tasting event on Friday night called Martini Madness. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, and martinis will be tasted. Here’s more info.
There’s a comedy event/tap take over/one year anniversary celebration at Nomad’s Music Lounge on Friday. Piney River Brewery is taking over the taps for a beer dinner beginning at 6 p.m., and the comedy show begins at 7:30 p.m. with stand up by Brandon Davidson, Tyler Elliot, Zac Slusher, and more.

Saturday, Jan. 16
On Saturday, Backroad Anthem will perform a sold-out show at George’s as a tribute to their lead singer Craig Strickland, who passed away recently after his boat capsized on a hunting trip. Barrett Baber and some other local musicians are expected to join them on stage at the show.
Also Saturday night, radio personality Ira Glass will appear at the Walton Arts Center to talk about all he’s learned (and mastered) over his 37 years at NPR’s network headquarters. Here’s more info.

Singled Out at Maxine’s this week will feature interviews and performances by Rochelle Bradshaw and Hypnotion. It starts at 7 p.m., and there’s no cover.
A second Backroad Anthem show was also scheduled on Sunday night at George’s after the first one sold out in a matter of minutes. This one, however, is also sold out.
