Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place

Former UA student and pop star Ben Rector is back in town for a sold-out show at Fayetteville Town Center Friday night.
Also Friday night, former Pinback singer Rob Crow’s new band Gloomy Place will perform at George’s Majestic Lounge at a show organized by the folks behind the On the Map Music Festival. Locals Teenagers will open the show.
At the theatre, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is playing all weekend at Walton Arts Center. Here’s the schedule of performances.

There’s a big old gumbo cooking competition on Saturday. The first ever Fayetteville Gumbo Cookoff is set for noon on Saturday, March 5 at Fayettechill’s Smokehouse location (1725 S Smokehouse Trail). There are also several good rock shows scheduled for Saturday, including Joplin rockers Me Like Bees at Smoke & Barrel, locals Randall Shreve & The Deville’s at Ryleigh’s, and local band Ten High will be at The Lightbulb Club with Norman, OK band Helen Kelter Skelter.
