Longtime local sign painter Joe Alexander will exhibit a collection of his oil paintings on Friday night at Local Color Gallery. The opening reception starts at 6 p.m. on Friday night, and drinks and snacks will be served. Here’s more information.

Fayetteville Parks & Rec’s Splash and Dash kids aquathon race is set for Friday night at Wilson Park. The race combines swimming and running, and is set to begin at 6 p.m. Here’s more info.

If you’re in the mood for jokes, you can check out a comedy show at Ryleigh’s. The NWA / OKC Comedy Collision, as the name suggests, featuring local and central Oklahoma comedians, is set for 7 p.m. Admission’s $5.

In tunes, local band Vintage Pistol will celebrate the release of their second EP Friday night at George’s. Admission is $5, and the first 50 attendees get a free EP. Locals Space4Lease and Randall Shreve are also on the bill.
