Fayetteville Roots Festival continues on Friday, with main stage headliners Amy Helm, Peter Rowan, and Old Crow Medicine Show at Fayetteville Town Center, and blues-woman Samantha Fish with Little Rock band Amasa Hines at George’s. There are also free shows at Maxine’s Tap Room with Skinny Gypsies and at Kingfish with Cutty Rye.

Barrett Baber

Grub’s is turning 15 this week, and they’re celebrating with a free Barrett Baber concert, and a fundraiser for the Miller McNeil Woodruff foundation. The fun starts at 5 p.m., and the concert will begin at around 10:15 p.m. Here’s more info.
There’s also plenty of Fayetteville Roots Festival fun to be had. Here’s our full guide, and here’s info on free events associated with the festival. Headliners at Fayetteville Town Center on Saturday include The Shook Twins, Milk Carton Kids, and songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov with an 8-piece ensemble from SoNA.
There’s likely to be some Roots Festival magic at George’s on Saturday night as well. Songwriter Amy Helm, daughter of the legendary Levon Helm, will be performing with Earl & Them featuring Earl Cate of the Cate Brothers.
We’re hoping some of the national talent in town for the Roots Festival this weekend wanders into Maxine’s on Saturday night to experience the talent of locals Arkansauce. They’re playing a free show there, and they’re incredible.
