Several of the artists that helped found the Fayetteville Underground have split off to start their own collective called Fenix Fayetteville, and that group will be kicking off their holiday art sale Friday Night at the building formerly home to Beaver Electric (208 N. Block). The Friday event requires a ticket, and will include live music, live painting, and other festivities, and the sale continues through Dec. 18. There’s more info on Facebook.
There’s some good music to check out Friday night as well. Locals Silvershakers and Brick Fields will kick off the weekend with a happy hour show at George’s.
Legendary songwriter and performer Art Garfunkel is in town for a show at the Walton Arts Center Friday night. Tickets start at $35, and are on sale here.
Also Saturday night, there’s a rock show at Smoke & Barrel with Joplin band, Me Like Bees.

Artist Laboratory Theatre will perform their All You Need To Know Show, this time on the subject of the brain, on Sunday night at their new home in south Fayetteville.
Also Sunday night, local songwriter Shawn James will perform a solo acoustic set at Maxine’s Tap Room, and there’s a huge show at George’s with Grateful Dead tribute Terrapin Flyer (featuring Melvin Seals).
There’s an Egg Nog making competition set for Sunday night at the UARK Bowl. The Fayetteville chapter of the US Bartenders Guild has taken over the event, and moved it to a larger venue this year. Admission is $30, and you can take up to $10 off of that by bringing in 10 non-perishable food items for the NWA Food Bank. More info is here.
