Fayetteville roads were covered with a light dusting of snow Friday morning after winter weather rolled through the area Thursday night.
“Our crews are out treating and clearing the streets,” wrote Mayor Lioneld Jordan in an early morning Facebook post. “We have been working through the night.”
Jordan said crews worked through the night on spraying brine, spreading salt and scraping the surface of primary, arterial, and collector roads around town. Still, he reminded residents to drive carefully.
“It was a dry snow, but we do have slick spots,” he wrote. If nothing changes we should have everything under control today.”
Fayetteville Public Schools are closed, and the University of Arkansas is on a delayed start with offices and classes beginning at 10 a.m. and bus service beginning at 9 a.m.
For more school closures, see our post from earlier today.
