First Thursday returns to the Fayetteville square tonight (June 1), and this month’s event is all about pie.
The June event is one of three First Thursday outdoor festivals that will take up a larger footprint around the square, and will also be planned around a central theme. In particular, this one is all about pie. Because who doesn’t like pie?
The food trucks and vendors at this month’s event will make up their own versions of fried pies, frito pies, and other creative takes on the theme. Mud pie-making stations will also be set up for the kids.
In addition, this month’s event will include live music by kids band Möm & Pöp at 5:15 p.m., and Hosty Trio singer Mike Hosty will perform a solo show beginning at around 6:30 p.m.
The featured brewery this month is Core, who we’re told will unveil some new brews in the beer garden near the music stage.
Art wise, local gallery Fayetteville Underground will feature a group show of local and regional glass artists in honor of the Chihuly exhibits at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art this month. Featured artists include Adam Driver
and William Bailey. Expect live music from The Lark & The Loon and craft cocktails from Ozark Mixology. Here’s more info about the show.
Across the square at Stage 18, abstract painter Brian Wolfe and multi-media artist Wanbli Gamache will debut new work with an opening reception set to begin at 6 p.m. Later on, the venue will host live music from New York experimental band, You Bred Raptors?
Free parking is available for the event in the Town Center parking deck.
