First of all, we’re going to preface this edition of the Weekend Flyer with a ‘good luck’ to anyone trying to decide what to do this weekend. There are a million things happening.
Pulitzer prize winning author Colson Whitehead will speak at the Fayetteville Public Library on Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. Here’s more info about that.
There are some great theatrical performances in town this weekend. TheatreSquared’s new show, The Hounds of the Baskervilles opens at Nadine Baum Studios this week, Beautiful – the Carole King Musical is playing at Walton Arts Center, and a new musical theatre company called Pilot Arts will perform Tuck Everlasting, the Musical at the Arkansas Air & Military Museum.
There’s baseball at Baum Stadium. The Diamond Hogs are taking on Alabama for a weekend series this week. The Hogs will try to bounce back from a pretty rough showing last weekend at Mississippi State. They looked up to the challenge earlier this week when they dominated a good Texas Tech team.
Music wise, local duo Handmade Moments are back in town for a show at Smoke & Barrel Friday night. Admission is $10.
