Friday, May 18
Walton Arts Center’s Broadway season is wrapping up, but they’re going out with a bang with the touring adaptation of the classic film, Sound of Music. If there are any tickets left, here’s where to get them.
Need some laughs? There are a couple options for that. TheatreSquared is wrapping up the run of their hit comedy, The Hound of the Baskervilles soon, and there are some chances to check that out at Nadine Baum Studios. Ticket info is here.
At Stage 18, the comedy quiz show Dunced! will begin around 8:30 p.m.
Also, remember Artist Laboratory Theatre’s new site-specific show we told you about that takes place mostly on a city transit bus? There are a couple chances to see that this weekend as well. Details are here.
Music-wise, George’s has a rock show Friday night with Springfield, MO band Smokey folk and locals, Youth Pastor.
There’s a lot more below. Click around for details.

It’s farmers’ market season on the square, and if you’re in town and awake, that’s where Saturdays should start.
After that, there’s plenty of music to check out in town if that’s what you’re after. Randall Shreve: The Last Masquerade is at George’s Saturday night, Smoke & Barrel Tavern is hosting another of their Worst Party Ever dance party events, and we don’t know anything about them other than their band name is pretty great, but Turkey Buzzard will perform at The Roost Saturday night.
There’s lots more below. Have an awesome weekend, everyone.
