Friday, Jan. 4

A new musical based on Rick Riordan’s New York Times best-selling novel The Lightning Thief debuts right here in Fayetteville this weekend. The national tour of the brand new show begins its run at the Walton Arts Center, with three shows set for Friday and Saturday. The show tells the story of a boy who discovers that his absent father is the Greek god Poseidon, and that he has super powers himself, and is being called a “clever, hip, and irreverent rock musical that merges teenage angst with greek mythology.”
Also on Friday, the Bel Airs play happy hour while Grateful Dead tribute band Friends of the Phamily are on the late night stage at George’s Majestic Lounge.
Other live music includes the Uncrowned Kings at JJ’s on Dickson, Jon Dooly at West & Watson, and more.
