The Fayetteville City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2 has been postponed until Thursday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Lioneld Jordan said he made the decision Tuesday afternoon after receiving postponement requests from a majority of City Council members.
The requests, he said, were made because of a planned protest event scheduled for Tuesday night near the Fayetteville Town Center and the Downtown Square Gardens.
The protest and the City Council meeting overlap in timing, which created a scheduling conflict for anyone who wishes to attend both events.
All agenda items previously planned for review tonight by the council will be taken up on Thursday.
