Arkansas announces full hoops schedule

The University of Arkansas announced the Razorbacks’ full basketball schedule Friday, highlighted by a road trip to Oklahoma State to face the Cowboys in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Jan. 30.

The Razorbacks have the dubious distinction of opening and closing their 18-game SEC schedule on the road with dates at Auburn on Dec. 30 and at South Carolina on March 2. It’s also the Hogs’ turn to visit Rupp Arena to face the Kentucky Wildcats on Feb. 9.

Seven of the nine non-conference games will be played in the friendly confines of Bud Walton Arena, but as announced Wednesday in a letter for Hog season ticket holders from Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek only 4,000 of the venerable arena’s 19,500 seats will be available to socially distanced fans because of Covid-19.

The season opener is Nov. 25 — the night before Thanksgiving — against Mississippi Valley State. The Hogs will also travel to Tulsa on Dec. 8 to face the Golden Hurricane.
