Put on a comfortable pair of shoes, everyone. It’s gonna be a busy weekend in Fayetteville.
There’s music. George’s kicks off the weekend with a happy hour show featuring the band that is single-handedly keeping Fayetteville Funky (1 Oz. Jig), followed by a performance by songwriter (and son of Rollerball writer William Harrison) Sean Harrison & his band, Sidemen on Friday night, and country dudes Brent Cobb and Kendell Marvel on Saturday night. Here’s ticket info for the George’s shows.
Also in tunes, happy hours are returning to the Walmart AMP this weekend. Friday night’s show features party dudes Boom! Kinetic with fellow party dude, Jim Goza, and on Saturday, Goza’s other band The Juice will perform with local guitar slinger, TJ Scarlett.
There’s an outdoor show at Mount Sequoyah on Friday night with local singer/songwriter Willi Carlisle. It starts at 6 p.m., and you can book a circle on the lawn for $40. On Saturday, locals Route 358 will perform on that same stage, same circles, same price.
There’s a mini-music festival and community benefit on Saturday at Prairie Street Live. The event, called CydStock, is a fundraiser for local resident Cyd Starr, and features music by National Park Radio, Rachel Ammons, Red Oak Ruse, Me and Him, John Henry and Adams Collins, Shilah Molina & Special Guests and others, along with family activities and more. More info is here.
There are some cool opportunities for theatre this weekend as well. Walton Arts Center has several performances of interactive outdoor show Art Heist scheduled this weekend, as part of their annual Artosphere festival. Here’s a schedule.
Also in theatre, TheatreSquared has finally returned to in-person performances at their state-of-the-art new facility with a new show titled “At The Wedding.” Here’s more on that.
The No. 1 ranked Hog baseball team is in town for a home series versus Georgia this weekend at Baum Walker Stadium.
The Farmers’ Market is happening on the square Saturday morning. Get your Mom some flowers down there.
Up in Springdale, the Little Craft Show will be hosting an event in the Shiloh Square in the the downtown area. Here’s more about that.
Happy Mothers Day, Moms.
There’s even more below. Whew. Have fun, everyone.
