Weekend Flyer: John Fullbright, Rochelle Bradshaw, The Barbaloots, Homecoming, and more

Put on your pants, and get ready for a weekend, everyone. It’s happening.

It’s Homecoming weekend at the UA, and that means a parade and pep rally to kick things off on Friday night. Here’s more about that. Of course, homecoming culminates in a football match, and there’s one of those happening as well as the Hogs take on the Eagle Tigers of Auburn. It’s an 11 a.m. kickoff. Here’s a preview.

Also in sports, the Razorback soccer team, currently ranked No. 6 in the country in the D1 Women’s Soccer Rankings, will be in action on Friday night as the Hogs take on Missouri at Razorback Field. It’s a 7 p.m. game.

There’s lots of music this weekend. George’s has a good lineup, with a Van Halen tribute to kick things off at 6 p.m. by locals, Honeyjack during happy hour. After that, an all-star lineup of musicians from Tulsa, John Fullbright and the Tulsa Review, will take the stage around 9:30 p.m. George’s has Andy Frasco & the UN back in town for a show on Saturday night, and another lineup of good locals on Sunday with Moonsong, Olympics, and Fight Dream.

Also in tunes, locals Rochelle Bradshaw & Crazy Neighbor will play the cottage circle on Mount Sequoyah as part of their Music on the Mountain series on Saturday night. Music is set for around 6:30 p.m. Ticket info is here.

Another local show is scheduled for Saturday night at Prairie Street Live, with jams provided by Monk is King and Foggy Bobcat.

How about biking about 30 miles on Saturday morning? The annual Square to Square ride will make its way from Bentonville to Fayetteville this year, rescheduled from a couple weeks ago. Here’s more info about that.

If you haven’t seen TheatreSquared’s new hit Designing Women, well, you’d better get on it. The show’s run is set to close next week. There are several chances to see it this weekend, either in person or via livestream. Here’s more info.
