If anyone has an old, rotting pumpkins lying around in a few days for some reason, here’s a productive thing you can do with them.

The City of Fayetteville is hoping to turn those squishy old orange dudes into nutrient-rich compost.

City officials this week announced they’ll be accepting pumpkins at any of their 24/7 food waste drop-off locations in town.

Just drop them off in the green food waste cart at the Yacht Club on College, 617 N. College Ave., Marion Orton Recycling Center, 735 W. North St., Trinity United Methodist Church, 1021 W. Sycamore St., or Happy Hollow Recycling Center, 1420 S. Happy Hollow.
