We don’t know about you guys, but we could really use a weekend about now. What do you guys say we take the next couple days off?
There’s plenty to occupy our time while we’re at it. Fayetteville Film Fest is happening this weekend, for example, with dozens of film screenings, filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, and more. You can get passes to the entire weekend, or just individual tickets to the movies or events that appeal to you. Here’s more info.
There’s music. Fayetteville supergroup Flipoff Pirates are kicking off the weekend at George’s during happy hour. Later on, Larkin Poe and Tyler Bryant will take the stage Friday night, and on Saturday, the venue will host Read Southall Band and The Weathered Souls. Here’s ticket info.
How about some sports? The Razorback football team is away to take on LSU on Saturday night. That’s a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. There’s soccer in town, though, as the Hogs take on Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m. at Razorback Field, or volleyball versus Florida at Barnhill on Friday night. There’s also hoops, as the Arkansas women’s team takes on UAPB at noon on Friday, and the men’s team takes on Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Also in sports, the All Cross all ages bike race we told y’all about earlier this week is happening on Saturday if you feel like seeing how fast your kids really are.
TheatreSquared will continue the run of their latest show, Tiny Beautiful Things, this weekend. There are a few chances to check that out, either in person or virtually.
Also in shows, the Beatles are in town (sorta), as RAIN – A Tribute to the Beatles will perform on Saturday night at Walton Arts Center. It’s an 8 p.m. show, and tickets are here.
Also this weekend, New York Times bestselling author Susan Orlean will make an appearance for a lecture and book signing event at Fayetteville Public Library at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Here’s more on that.
How about some art? Crystal Bridges is turning 10 years old this week, and they’ve got a weekend of free celebrations planned. Here’s more on that.
Or y’all could just chill. That’s also fine to do sometimes.
Do whatever you want. Weekend!
