Who’s ready for a three-day weekend? This is a rhetorical question, because this weekend is not a three-day weekend. Just wonder if anyone else wishes it was. Just us?
There’s plenty to do, though. For example, anyone feel like ballroom dancing? Mount Sequoyah Center is hosting another of their supper club dance nights on Friday night featuring local blues by Brick Fields and BBQ by Girls Gone BBQ.
It’s a really good weekend for comedy in NWA, with nationally-known comedian Jon Lovitz doing a three-day stand at The Grove Comedy Club in Lowell Friday-Sunday, and Brian Regan performing at the Walton Arts Center on Sunday night.
In music, The Bel Airs will kick things off for happy hour at George’s on Friday night, followed by country artist Whitey Morgan later on. On Saturday night, local favorite bluegrassers Big Smith are back on the George’s stage. Here’s ticket info.
JJ’s Live has some music this weekend as well with That Arena Rock Show on Friday night, and Smoke & Barrel Tavern has Cole Birmingham Band and Charlie J Memphis on Friday, and Front Porch with Damn Neighbors on Saturday.
Up north, classic rockers Steely Dan are in town for a show at The Walmart AMP on Friday night, and Crystal Bridges has a cool Forest Concert Series show featuring Naia Izumi and Honey Collective on Saturday night.
