Crunch Fitness is set to open its first Arkansas location inside the Northwest Arkansas Mall in north Fayetteville.
The company last week announced the new franchise, and said the plan is for a winter launch of Crunch Fayetteville. The $5 million facility will occupy a 55,000-square-foot space in the mall at 4201 N. Shiloh Drive, and will include $1 million worth of equipment and amenities, according to a news release.
Officials did not say specifically where the facility would be located, but crews were seen Monday renovating a portion of the former Sears store on the southeast end of the mall near the construction site of a planned mixed-use development on the former Hooters property. We reached out to mall officials and will update this story when we have more specific information.
The Fayetteville franchise is owned by partners John Armatas and Brian Hibbard, CEO of Fitness Ventures LLC, which owns and operates 26 other Crunch Fitness facilities across the country.
“We are excited to bring the Crunch brand to Fayetteville, Arkansas,” said Hibbard in a statement. “Crunch is for everyone, from the first-time gym-goer to the seasoned athlete.”
Crunch facilities include strength and cardio equipment with memberships starting at $9.99 per month. Upgrades can be purchased to access group fitness classes, personal trainers, online video workouts, tanning, HydroMassage beds, and guest privileges, according to the company’s website.
The company says it serves over 1.9 million members with more than 400 gyms across the U.S., the District of Columbia, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Spain.
