Fayetteville police are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting that left one person dead late Tuesday near McDonald’s at 1641 N. College Ave.
The shooting occurred at about 9:55 p.m., according to a post on the department’s social media.
An officer was nearby and immediately responded after hearing gunshots, police said. Once the officer arrived, one victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said an initial investigation has led detectives to believe the incident was not a random act of violence.
The suspect has not been located. The investigation is ongoing.
