Trash and recycling pickups will occur as normal on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

City offices will close on Monday, Jan. 16, but pickups will not be affected.

While both residential and commercial pickup routes will run on schedule, the city’s Trash Transfer Station will be closed on Monday.

Christmas tree disposal

As a reminder, the city will collect live Christmas trees through the end of January at no charge.

Residents can place live trees by the curb on their regular trash collection day, or take them to the city’s compost facility, located at 1708 S. Armstrong Ave.

Trees must be free from all plastic bags, stands, decorations, lights, and tinsel before they will be collected. No artificial trees will be accepted.
