Rapper, singer, and songwriter Aminé will headline this year’s Springtime of Youth festival at the University of Arkansas, UA headliners committee announced recently.

The artist is set to perform at the festival on Saturday, April 22 in the lot outside Baum Walker Stadium in Fayetteville.

Aminé broke out with his 2016 hit Caroline which reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also received a Grammy nomination in 2021 for Best Dance Recording for the track My High, a collaboration with Disclosure and slowthai.

So far, he is the only artist announced so far for the festival, though there may be more in the works. An Instagram post announcing the show indicated that a full lineup for the festival is on the way.

The annual event debuted in 2015 as an alternative to the committee’s typical semester concerts held at Barnhill Arena. The inaugural event took place over two consecutive days, but was converted to a single-day event in 2016.

Past performers include Kesha, Galantis, Bleachers, Lil Dicky, Big Sean, Young the Giant, Caitlyn Smith, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, Børns, Mutemath, Moxie Raia, MisterWives, Dominic Fike, and others.

No ticket information has been announced just yet, but in previous years the shows have been free for students, and if there are any left, general admission tickets eventually become available to the public.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
