It’s back.
The dates are set for the second ever FORMAT music, art, and technology festival in Northwest Arkansas, and the lineup for the 2023 event was released Tuesday.
The event will take place Sept. 22-24 at Sugar Creek Airstrip, a 250-acre property located in northeast Bentonville. Headliners for this year’s event include New York rock band LCD Soundsystem on Friday night, 90s icon Alanis Morissette on Saturday, and soul artist Leon Bridges on Sunday night. Those artists join Modest Mouse, Jamie XX, Tash Sultana, Big Wild, Little Simz, Bob Moses, Poolside, Channel Tres, and Paul Cauthen and several others on the festival lineup.
Performances at the event will take place on traditional festival stages, but also in more unconventional spaces like The Cube, a cube-shaped colorful lighted space erected on the property, or Drag Me to the Disco, a barn-shaped structure, and others.
In addition to the music, the festival will once again feature art installations and experiences by a host of working artists from around the world. This year’s artists include Guerrilla Girls, JR’s Inside Out Project, Jeremy Deller, Ragnar Kjartansson, and Kameelah Janan Rasheed.
The event is produced by Austin-based C3 Presents and creative house TRIADIC, in association with 180 Studios, Istanbul’74, and CACHE and official partners OZ Brands, Crystal Bridges, and The Momentary.
The full lineup is below.
Pre-sale tickets to the event will be available at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 6. Ticket pricing info is not yet available. To register for the presale, visit format-festival.com.
