Fayetteville residents this week will have a chance to visit with the School District’s new superintendent.

The district has partnered with the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce to host a meet and greet event with new Fayetteville Public Schools Superintendent John Mulford at an event called Java with John from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Jammin Java, located at 1 E. Mountain Street on the Fayetteville square.

The event is free to attend and open to the public.

The school board in the spring voted to offer the position to Mulford, who previously served as the deputy superintendent of operations for Springfield (Missouri) Public Schools.

Mulford will take over for superintendent John Colbert, who retired earlier this summer after working for the district for 47 years.
