Kickoff moved to noon for Arkansas football season opener in Little Rock

Razorback fans don’t have to wait quite as long for the football season to get started this year.

The game time for the season opener against Western Carolina has been moved up to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, the school announced Monday.

The matchup at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock was originally scheduled for 3 p.m. but was changed due to the weather forecast calling for temperatures in the mid 90s and high humidity on Saturday afternoon. Officials said shifting the game time up will allow for safer conditions for both players and fans.

As part of the SEC’s new deal with ESPN, schools are allowed to decide start times for games that are streamed on SECN+ and ESPN+ as opposed to those televised on traditional networks.

Tickets to the season-opening game are still available from $40-$50 through the Razorback ticketing center.
