FAYETTEVILLE — There’s a new way to experience Lights of the Ozarks this year.

For four Friday nights this December, visitors to downtown Fayetteville can walk through a car-free square during the annual holiday lighting display.

The square will close to car traffic from 5-10 p.m. on Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to shop local and enjoy the enchanting festive atmosphere while strolling the car-free streets,” according to an announcement from the Downtown Fayetteville Coalition. “All people, bikes, and roller skates are welcome!”

The holiday Open Streets events are free and open to the public.

Aside from seeing the 30-year-old lighting display, a variety of holiday festivities are also planned during each Friday night event.

The 2023 Lights of the Ozarks festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 with the annual lighting ceremony and parade on the downtown square.
