We’ve had enough week for this week. Let’s weekend instead for a few days. Wanna?

It’s opening weekend for the Diamond Hogs. The Razorback baseball team will kick off their season with a series versus James Madison Friday through Monday at Baum-Walker Stadium. Note that Friday’s game has been moved up to 2 p.m. due to weather. More game times on this weekend’s schedule can be found on the list below.

Longtime local artist Brian Abel will exhibit his colorful paintings all month in Sequoyah Hall at Mount Sequoyah Center. An artist’s reception for Brian is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16. We interviewed him about the show recently.

Also at Mount Sequoyah Center this weekend is a rock show organized by the folks from Holy Anvil featuring Gardensnakes, John Charles and The Cold Cuts, and Idle Valley at The Dining Hall. It’s at 7 p.m. Saturday, it’s an all-ages show, and the cover is $10.

Also in tunes, Austin-based band Large Brush Collection is in town show at Arsaga’s on Saturday night fresh off the release of their first full-length album, Off Center. Excellent local folk artists Dana Louise and Jude Brothers will also perform. Here’s more.

There are a couple big shows at JJ’s Live this weekend. On Friday night, they have country artist Warren Zeiders and Clayton Mullen on the big stage, and on Saturday they’ll host another country show with Casey Donahew.

George’s has a full weekend of music this weekend as well, with Ultra Suede for happy hour and Jed Harrelson and Ozark Riviera on Friday night; local party band Funk Factory on Saturday; and local string band Charlie Mellinger Band on Sunday night.

SoNA is back at Walton Arts Center for a performance called “Defying Expectations” on Saturday night. Here’s ticket info for that one.

Maxine’s Tap Room will host local duo Hoochfire Hoofers on Sunday night, featuring members of Monk is King. There’s no cover.

Also on Sunday, songwriter Dan Bern will perform at Fayetteville Folk School. Dan’s written songs for numerous TV and movie projects you are probably familiar with.

Also in performances this weekend, TheatreSquared will continue a run of their show “What the Constitution Means to Me.” There are several chances to see the show this weekend.

There’s more below. Have the best weekend ever.
