With the days getting longer and quite a bit warmer recently, some of you are probably asking yourself, “Self, when does the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market return to the square?” The answer is March 23.

The market will kick off the 2024 season with two Saturday “Spring Fling” markets on March 23 and 30, before opening the regular season on Saturday, April 6 on the downtown Fayetteville square.

The two March markets will be open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and will include seasonal vegetables, meats, eggs and cheeses in addition to fresh cut flowers, artisan crafts and local bakery goods. There’s also one more indoor market scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center.

After that, regular Saturday markets will be open each week from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. through November.

In addition to the in-person walk-up markets, the market also accepts online orders that can be placed each week between 6 p.m. on Sundays and 6 a.m. on Wednesdays, to be picked up between 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library’s south parking lot on School Avenue.

For those who aren’t familiar, the market includes around 70 vendors selling all kinds of locally-grown flowers, produce, meats, eggs, baked goods, plants, and arts and crafts.

In addition, there are typically musicians performing on each corner, food trucks, community groups, and tons of people circling the square in the warm spring air while browsing all the locally-grown and handmade items.
