The Fayetteville animal shelter’s free adoption event has been extended.

The shelter will waive all adoption fees as part of their Big Summer Blowout aimed to help connect local pets with new families and clear space and resources at the shelter.

“We had a great turnout for our Big Summer Blowout last week…39 pets are in new homes,” officials posted to the Facebook page earlier this week. ” It was so awesome, we decided to extend free adoption through Saturday, July 6.”

All available dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated prior to going home with their new owners.

The adoption process starts online with an application form. Once approved, applicants are invited to visit the shelter and choose a dog.

The shelter is located at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave. and is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
