A new running event is coming to Dickson Street this summer.

The Dickson Street Mile is organized by the city’s Parks, Natural Resources, and Cultural Affairs department and is set for Saturday, July 27.

The event will include several race categories for speedsters, strollers, walkers, youth, and even one for dogs.

From the description of the event:

Join us as we turn Dickson Street into a mile-long parade, showcasing the vibrant energy and camaraderie of our running community. Let’s come together to cheer, participate, and make downtown buzz with excitement.

The race will start and finish in front of George’s Majestic Lounge on Dickson Street, and will utilize Dickson Street, West Avenue, Spring Street, and East Avenue.

Races will begin at 7 a.m. and will take place through mid-morning.

Sign-ups are $30 for adults, $15 for youth, and $5 for a parent run partner.
