If you’ve somehow managed to make it this far without realizing it was election day, give yourself a pat on the back. You officially live in your own world. To be honest, I’m kinda jealous.
The rest of us are out here with a barrage of reminders that today is the day to get out and vote. Especially those of us who live on the world wide webs.
Besides the regulars, the new school media are taking it to a new level this time around.
Facebook is sending everyone (of age) who logs in today a link to a polling place locator. Once your duty is done, click the “I voted” button to let everyone know.
Foursquare is giving “I Voted” badges to those who check in at a polling place. They even made an embeddable check-ins map for tracking purposes.
Twitter is asking folks to add the hashtag #votereport “to a Tweet about your experience at your polling place; those reports will be aggregated at TwitterVoteReport.com.”
Go out and vote, Fayetteville. Even if it’s only to cast one “for your least unfavorite choice.”
Tonight
After the vote counts start coming in, there will be lots of cheers (or tears). Celebrate (or drown it out) by enjoying Galactic at George’s Majestic Lounge, Jori Costello on Mount Sequoyah, or any of the following:
