Snow falls on Dickson Street Monday morning in Fayetteville. The National Weather Service expects freezing rain by this afternoon with snow and sleet accumulation up to 4 inches.

Snow is falling in town this morning, but Fayetteville Public Schools are open on their regular schedules. Sorry, folks.

Shipley Do-Nuts is coming to Fayetteville soon. Company officials said the restaurant, in the former Sonic Drive-In on College Avenue, should open sometime in the next couple weeks.

This week’s public calendar includes a meeting of the A&P Commission, a City Council agenda-setting session and a Fayetteville Hall of History Ceremony.

The latest Flyer Recipe, Tortellini Salad, is the perfect thing to prepare early in the week and enjoy over the days to follow.

In A&E news, comedian Michael Ian Black is coming to town this week and Hayes Carll will return to Fayetteville for a show in April.

Love Gone Bad

There’s an anti-Valentine’s Day fundraiser tonight at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. The event, benefitting 7Hills homeless center, will feature songs by Memphis bluesman Andy Cohen and stories from Memphis transplant Kathy McGregor.
