The Fayetteville Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for current and former members of the armed services and their spouses through Saturday, July 7.

“We have many great pets that have a lot to offer someone, and we wanted to honor the people who have given so much to allow us the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Justine Middleton, animal services superintendent.

All dogs and cats adopted through the event will receive the same services as any other adoption, including the spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and vaccinations.

The shelter is closed Wednesday for the Fourth of July holiday, but will keep normal hours the rest of the week.
