Arkansas ranked No. 10 in USA Today preseason coaches poll

A new season of Razorback football begins in less than a month, marking the Hogs’ official start of the 2012-13 season as a Top 10 team.

Arkansas was ranked No. 10 in the USA Today preseason coaches’ poll released earlier this week.

Fellow SEC West foes LSU (1) and Alabama (2) are ranked ahead of the Razorbacks, as are SEC East teams Georgia (6) and South Carolina (9).

Arkansas returns 47 letterman, and 16 starters from last year’s Cotton Bowl champion team, including two early Heisman trophy-contenders in senior quarterback Tyler Wilson and junior running back Knile Davis.

Arkansas finished last year ranked No. 5 in the final coaches poll.

The Hogs open the 2012 football season at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, where they will take on Jacksonville State. The game will be televised on pay-per-view.
