An approved plan for wider sidewalks along East Center Street was revisited and eventually abandoned Tuesday night by the Fayetteville Street Committee.

Fayetteville police made a third arrest in connection with a November 2011 home invasion at 232 N. Olive Ave. that left one burglar dead and another man shot.

The League of Women Voters will host a Sept. 19 panel discussion on ballot issues voters will face this November, including local liquor-sales votes and the statewide medical marijuana issue.

About 75 people stood in line Thursday morning to be the first to shop at a new Goodwill store in Fayetteville. It’s the sixth Goodwill location in the region and the 31st in the state.
