Coming here: Califone, Aug. 28 at LaLaLand

Acclaimed Chicago-based experimental rock band Califone is coming to Fayetteville next month.

The band will perform a “living room show” at LaLaLand at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28 as part of a series of shows scheduled in small venues across the county.

Califone, formed by former Red Red Meat frontman Tim Rutili, has released 11 records since the late 90’s, and their music has been consistently well received by critics. In fact, I can’t find a Pitchfork review of one of their records rated below an 8, which is kind of remarkable.

For those who aren’t familiar, LaLaLand is a small art/music space located at 641 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. near Fayetteville High School.

Tickets are $20, but only 40 will be sold to the show (as of the publishing of this post, it looks like they’re already down to 29.)
