Drivers can expect lane closures and restrictions on two streets in south Fayetteville beginning Monday.

Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

Closings will occur as needed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, between South School Avenue and South Government Avenue this week.

The closures are needed to allow crews to perform routine maintenance to the driving surface, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.

Officials said the work will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 through Thursday, Oct. 17.

Indian Trail

Only eastbound traffic will be allowed beginning Monday on Indian Trail, between Stadium Drive and Razorback Road.

The restrictions are necessary as part of the next construction phase of Tsa-La-Gi Trail. The planned 1.8-mile trail will run parallel to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and stretch from Frisco Trail west to Hollywood Avenue.

The work is expected to last about three weeks, city transportation officials said.

Motorists are urged to approach the area from the West in order to traverse Indian Trail during this period.
